Little Jars of Clay: You Are Wonderfully Made!

Dearest Little Jars of Clay,

Sending you so much love and excitement with this very first message!

Have you ever wondered why I call you "Little Jars of Clay"? It's not just a cute nickname! It's actually what God calls us in the Bible. You might be asking, "Why 'jars of clay,' Auntie Mica? That doesn't sound very fancy!" And that's a great question!

In 2 Corinthians 4:7 (CSB), the Bible says something really cool: "But we have this treasure in jars of clay, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us." Think about it: ordinary clay jars, right? They're not super strong or sparkly on their own. But God chose to put His incredible, extraordinary power and His treasure—His light, His Spirit, His truth—inside us, these seemingly ordinary "jars of clay." It's to show that the amazing things that happen through us aren't because we're so amazing, but because He is!

This means you, my precious Little Jars of Clay, are carrying something truly magnificent inside you. And just like those special jars you might see (maybe one your grandma uses for cookies, or a cool one filled with seashells from a vacation), what often makes a jar special isn't just the jar itself, but what's inside it, or the unique way it's shaped, right?

Guess what? The Bible tells us something else super important about how you were made. In Psalm 139:14 (CSB), it says: "I will praise you, because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well." This means God, who created the entire universe, also created you. And the amazing part? He didn't make any mistakes when He made you!

Your Unique Design

Just think about all the ways you are unique:

  • Your laugh: There's truly no laugh exactly like yours.

  • Your ideas: The thoughts and dreams you have are all yours.

  • Your talents: Maybe you're great at drawing, telling stories, playing sports, being a super kind friend, or solving puzzles. These are special gifts God gave you specifically.

Sometimes, it's easy to look at others and wish we were more like them. Maybe you wish you were taller, or funnier, or better at a certain game. But here's the really cool part: God made you you on purpose! He gave you your own unique sparkle. Just like no two jars are exactly the same, no two of us are exactly the same. And guess what? That's absolutely fantastic!

What's Inside Your Jar?

Being "wonderfully made" isn't just about how you look on the outside. It's also about what's inside your "jar"—your heart, your personality, your spirit. God loves all of that, too! He wants us to fill our jars with good things: kindness, joy, peace, patience, and love. These are like treasures that make you shine even brighter from the inside out.

So, whenever you look in the mirror, or even just think about yourself, remember this truth: you are a one-of-a-kind, divinely designed, wonderfully made Jar of Clay, with God's precious treasure living inside you! Embrace who you are, because God certainly does.

I'd love to hear from you, Little Jars of Clay! What's one thing you love about your unique "jar"? Share your thoughts in the comments below! Get ready, because next time, we'll talk about another amazing way God loves and cares for us, even when life feels a bit wobbly.

Sending you all my love and prayers,

Auntie Mica
